Day 27 · False Friend

A word about colds, not bathrooms

Constipado

kon-stee-PAH-dohHaving a cold — NOT "constipated"

"Estoy constipado, no puedo dejar de estornudar."
I have a cold, I can't stop sneezing.

"Constipated" in the bathroom sense is "estreñido." Saying "estoy constipado" to a Spanish doctor just means you have a stuffy nose.
