When to use muy and when to use mucho

Muy vs. Mucho

"Estoy muy cansado, he trabajado mucho hoy."
I'm very tired, I've worked a lot today.

"Muy" goes before an adjective or adverb (muy cansado); "mucho" goes with a verb or noun (trabajar mucho, mucho dinero). Mixing them up is one of the most common beginner errors.
