A word about buying books, not borrowing them

Librería

lee-breh-REE-ah — Bookshop — NOT "library"

"Compré la novela en una librería del centro."
I bought the novel at a bookshop downtown.

A library, where you borrow books for free, is a "biblioteca." At a "librería" you pay — and nobody will shush you.

"I can't walk past a librería without going in, and I rarely come out empty-handed."— Graciela
